We are pleased to announce that the How To Be soundtrack is getting a wider worldwide release than we had originally planned. Unfortunately this means that we’ve had to move the release back a little, but the good news is that you wont have to wait very long. The record will be available to pre-order on the Dreamboat Records website soon; we’ll be announcing the exact date in the next few days. Sign up the the mailing list and Facebook group for updates.
We’re excited to announce the much-anticipated U.S. release of How To Be! The film has been picked up for distribution by IFC Films and will premiere on IFC Festival Direct in April. To coincide with IFC’s spring release, the How To Be soundtrack will be available on iTunes and on CD through Dreamboat Records. Full details of the release to come soon, and if you’re not in the U.S. or Italy then rest assured that we are hard at work setting up distribution elsewhere!
Leading up to the release, How To Be is going on a U.S. tour! Oliver Irving (Writer/Director), Joe Hastings (Composer), Mike Pearce (Nikki), and Johnny White (Ronny) will be bringing the film to select cities, hitting states along the East coast from Florida to Massachusetts. April tour dates are still being finalized, but stay tuned for updates!
In the meantime, How To Be has confirmed an Australian premiere and joined the rosters of several U.S. film festivals, many of which Writer/Director Oliver Irving will be attending. See below for dates and links to information and ticket sales for upcoming festival screenings.

Welcome to the many thousands of you who have signed up to the How To Be mailing list since the release of Twilight! How To Be is a British indie comedy about a struggling musician, played by Robert Pattinson, who shot the movie just before making Twilight. How To Be had its world premiere last January and has been screening in film festivals all over the world ever since. We’re now hard at work getting ready for a release during 2009. This mailing list, the news section of our website and our Facebook group are the best places to keep up to date. (And we do read every post on our Facebook page, even if we don’t have time to reply to them all!)
It has been an amazing year for How To Be. But first, let’s start with some announcements for 2009!
And now, to wrap up 2008, here’s a short update on what the cast and crew have been up to since our last newsletter.
In October, Director Oliver Irving attended the Gotham Screen Film Festival in New York and participated in a Q&A after the film. Our friends at Twilight News have a few pictures here. In November Johnny White (who plays Ronny in How To Be) attended the Lone Star International Film Festival and participated in a Q&A after the screening. You can view footage of the Q&A here and photos here. How To Be also recently screened at the Anchorage Film Festival on December 10th.
